Is Your Job Just Work?

Is Your Job “just work”? … Or are you doing something you really enjoy?

Many times the choosing of a vocation or career is made through necessity. Need or greed often dictate the path we take.

We’ve all seen people who “hate” their job. This is a result of the need or greed scenario. A living and even some affluence may be accomplished, but seldom will true success be achieved in this circumstance.

The choosing of a vocation or career should be a simple choice. What do you enjoy doing the most? That arena is where you should take aim!

If you are going to fulfill the criteria of Your Job, consider and find the best place where you can get training and where competent mentors are available to help you move your career forward. While most do not like to be “supervised”, it is certainly prudent to realize the limits of our knowledge and abilities.

All of us have those “limits”. At that limitation, the ONLY good solution is to ask and get advice from a mentor.

If you are not the “manager” of the business, you are still in training! If you have positioned yourself under the proper mentor, find out ALL there is to know about why and how business decisions are made.

  • First, it is the responsibility of the business manager to see these things happen.

  • Second, it is your obligation to see that you have accepted training, performed and taken the reins of responsibility.

When you are in doubt, never be ashamed to ask advice. Many times, your employees can be one of your best sources.

As you grow, the pay increases will come. So will responsibilities.

As these two things occur, the authority will also come allowing you to perform better. Equally important, you will begin to recognize areas where the business may be improved – for better customer relations.

Remember, this translates to a bigger and better bottom line!

If you haven’t taken the proper aim, it isn’t too late!!! Research your passion. Find your niche and pursue it!
