United States of America

I live in the United States of America. I am proud to be an American. I was born here about the time of the Great Depression. During my lifetime things have changed tremendously in this world! Some of the change has been good; some not so good! Currently, the USA still offers the most opportunity for me and my family. Consequently, it is without a doubt the best place in the world for us to live, work and serve our Great, Sovereign God of the Bible.

When the USA was initiated, it was out of oppression of the people in other countries. The need and desire for freedom prompted action to immigrate to the Americas. Early on, the founders framed the Constitution of the United States with stipulations that would eliminate the oppressions and lack of freedom experienced elsewhere. Over time, those absolute stipulations have been softened, modified by Amendments, to where the Constitution hardly resembles the original intent of the framers.

We all have a tendency to complain and fret about the condition of our existence. There are many frightening situations, i.e., wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes, hurricanes, murder, robbery, etc., etc. However, when we do so, we demonstrate a distrust of God as the Sovereign Being that controls and engineers all circumstances that exist in His creation.

We are told explicitly in His Word, The Bible, not to even be concerned, that is, if we, first, seek Him and His Kingdom. That means to study His Word; accept Jesus as Lord and Master of our life; trust, have faith in Him; and rely on His promises.

If we do that, God assures us He will supply our every need. I might point out our needs are, many times, far from our wants (greed). We, not only in the United States of America, but the entire world, need to seriously consider this and rely on Our Sovereign God!
